Tried it out for the first time in an emergency. Rotate 8 minutes at a time. The radio and flashlight only work when you start the engine. Doesn't hold any charge at all. Useless. In an emergency, do not rely on it!

I am very satisfied with this solar flashlight/radio. I use it for my emergency backpacks. We also take it with us when we travel. We spend a lot of time in the country. One of the many features is the ability to charge mobile phones. Since the flashlight/radio is charged via a solar panel or hand crank, mobile phones, lamps and radios can always be charged. I would highly recommend it to others

Over the years I have purchased several of these types of emergency radios/lamps/chargers to toss in a backpack or keep nearby if the power goes out for an extended period. . Very good emergency radio. The stations come clean, the batteries last a long time and charging is easy with a crank or solar panel. I just left mine in the sun all day before using it and the battery hasn't died with quite a bit of radio use since. LED lighting is a nice addition. You can't do without it in an emergency. I bought this in 2016 as a checkpoint before Hurricane Matthew. It worked perfectly for this event. Less than a year later, Hurricane Irma is approaching and the battery has failed completely. When you charge it, you can use the radio for 1 second before the battery runs out, or use the flashlight for 5 seconds. This little radio is a great buy on purpose. It's identical in appearance to several other radios, but I bought it on sale and saved a few bucks. The biggest difference is that this device uses a NiMH battery while some other identical devices use a Li-ion battery. If I had known this at the time of purchase I would have spent a few bucks (literally) and avoided this with a NiMH battery.
