I love this little radio. Haven't played cassettes yet but have switched from NPR to Bluetooth since I've had it. It perfectly fills my kitchen with sound via bluetooth or radio. The sound is just okay, but not outstanding. This is an inexpensive single speaker deal, that's to be expected. It's small, but I'm giving it one star for portability simply because it requires D batteries or a cord and outlet - no way to charge. The fact that it has bluetooth, batteries or a cable makes it a home appliance and most people have a better bluetooth speaker than this one. I find it aesthetic, retro, etc. and it has a USB plug. I love the overall size and capacity of this radio boombox. Good for intimate small rooms with audio projection; as a cozy living room, kitchen or bedroom. Of course, it's not as loud as other portable speakers for big parties! The radio tuning knob is a little tricky to find the exact radio station, but I'm used to that old-fashioned style of turning the knob until the radio station audio is clear of all the clutter!
