Smoke comes from behind.

I really liked this light and used it a lot for about a year. Recently the light burned out and I mean burned out actually, there was a trickle of smoke behind it and now it won't come on. This happened while it was plugged in and I turned off the power after it had been running for about 20 minutes.

It's excellent - I can only recommend it for indoor shots.

This is excellent - I highly recommend it for indoor and outdoor shots as you can change the color temperature. I can't compete with the super bright sun, but what can? It helped in the shade on a bright, sunny day, as long as it wasn't too far from the subject. I'm very happy with it and it seems to use very little power.

good light; weak attachment

Good color balance and barn doors for the price but it has one tragic flaw; The only thing connecting it to the camera or light stand is a thin piece of plastic instead of the sturdy 1/4 screw adapter that most cameras and light stands have. I dropped it and the part broke. What now? I think I can hold it with my hand or magyver with a clamp thingy. But for $80 it should be better built.

Even the boss liked it.

We are pleased with the performance of this light. It's very bright, and the variable color temperature and adjustable light output are good qualities, as they allow you to match the light source to the ambient light at the location (avoiding white balance problems) and open up creative possibilities if you want to pay for white balance and color temperatures to see what happens. It's also handy not to mess with gels when you need to adjust the color temperature. The product specs don't mention
