The cap of this hat is too small to fit a small 3 month old baby let alone a 6-12 month old baby. It was too small at the top, not enough material to ventilate the head and enough to go down to protect from the sun and be comfortable. I had to get another brand and send this one back. The design is very cute and I wish it would work because I love the mesh sides because they are breathable. But if your baby's head isn't flat on top and half of the head is missing, this won't work.

Got this for my grandson. That's a great little hat. The adjustable fit means we benefit a lot from it. The chin strap keeps it in the wind. Nice wide brim to protect his face. The design is perfect. He can carry it in a stroller or car seat without tilting his head forward or tilting his head as the back profile is flat, but his neck is still well protected.

In the summer sun this wide brimmed hat with a flap at the neck is perfect for my son. It is very light and completely covers my son's face and neck. There is a chin strap to keep it from falling off while playing. Dinosaur design is fun and my son is really into dinosaurs right now. There is a drawstring that can be adjusted according to your height. I just wish it was machine washable and not just hand washable.
