Rubber sole. Platform measures approximately 1.50". Boot opening measures approximately 10.5" around. The boys hiking boots with mesh/synthetic leather upper are durable and tear-resistant,breathable and easy to clean. The kids outdoor boots have two style linings:the breathable mesh skin-friendly lining and comfortable warm lining. The anti-skid snow boots for kids with with non-slip steel buckle and durable rubber outsole offer exceptional abrasion resistance and greater traction. The boys winter snow boots with anti-collision design to protects your kids toes from being hit by stone and other objects. The mid-top design of the winter boots for boys girls protects kids'ankle. Hook and loop helps children to put on and take off easily and quickly.

Comfortable and cool

Perfect fit for my 11 year old son. He loved them, didn't stop wearing them to school. I know they need to be comfortable all over.

  • Surprisingly, they have small metal clips on the bottom that turn into ice boots. Absolutely fantastic
Cons
  • Looks great. Fits well. Obviously not waterproof and not waterproof. Wet at the first touch of snow.

Suitable for wide feet: my rating

Great boots for a 3 year old with a wide foot. Used them for hiking and they were warm and waterproof. Will buy them again if they are too big.

  • Good sneakers but I did NOT sign up for the package, that's a lie! it was in the parcel post box where I live
Cons
  • I wanted to love theses but the buckle was cheap and broke the first time I wore it. Forget the buckle, use laces.

Better than expected

I bought these shoes for my son and I was skeptical. However, these shoes look very beautiful, comfortable and easy to care for. My son has been wearing them every day for several months and the shoes are still in great condition. Impressively.

Pros
  • These boots are ideal for cold and ice. They fit well but are not too easy to put on.
Cons
  • I sent them back because I liked the boots we had before. They seemed to wear out quickly.

Worth every penny! - my new rating

My 11 year old son loves them! He said they were so comfortable even after our 3 mile hike. They are easy to put on and take off for your child once the Express Course is complete! I recommend them and will buy the next size up if he needs it!

Clip trashy - my new review

I was very happy with these shoes for my son until the clip literally broke the first time I put them on. Now they are unusable and because I bought them as a birthday gift a few months before I received them I can't even return them now. Not happy at all.

You don't have to be a boy to wear them!

This is my third pair of boys' boots from this manufacturer. I'm an older woman who loves the fit and functionality of these boots. I'm just saying you don't have to be a boy to buy and wear them. I get them in size 6.5 (I usually wear 7.5 or 8 for women's shoes) and they are wide enough for my not narrow feet. Perfect fit as I can wear thicker socks with it. They have a small metal clip at the bottom to flip them over when it's slippery. And, very reasonable price. What else would you like to…

Good sturdy shoes

Good sturdy boots. Doesn't look or feel cheap. I wanted something for my 3 year old so he could hike the trails with his dad. His sneakers were too small for him, he got wet all the time and his winter boots were too big. You were perfect. I ordered a half size up hoping they'll make it by fall. You can't check your toe because it's heavy, but as soon as I saw it walk I knew it was good. I am very happy with it. And they are cute. The buckle at the bottom is weird, I know it's for the snow, but

Sturdy with ice picks, make sure your pants are tucked in or wear tall socks

So the boot is solid. It doesn't go through the sole, but metal (yes, those are metal ice axes) won't hit the ground unless you seriously wear down the soles of the boot themselves. Which, frankly, would be impressive if you did. The only complaint is that the upper doesn't compress well and is just snug enough, but not firm enough (if that makes sense) to rub against the skin and irritate or even damage the skin of the foot where the upper chafed is.
