The mold line has plastic protruding from the rubber seal on one side which makes it not fit on that side on 4 out of 4 filters when installed in the showerhead. Heck, the original filter didn't have such problems.

I have hard water and it is very harmful to my skin and hair. I find this shower filter works. I noticed how dry, itchy and flaky my scalp and hair was getting when I accidentally forgot to replace this filter after 8 months. After changing the filter, my hair and scalp are healthier.

I bought this product because the water in my house is so hard that it washes the color out of my hair and turns it coppery. It seems to help a little. The first filter performed better than the replacement. After the replacement, my color faded but I'm not sure if it was the filter or the color of my hair, which can sometimes be the case. Hence the reason for 4 instead of 5 stars.

I have purchased this filter 3 times and honestly see a difference with each install. We have very hard water at home. My hair feels much better with this filter. The packaging says it lasts around 6 months, I feel like it wears off after around 4 months but it's worth it. When I take the old one out to put the new one in, I see all the roughness the filter picks up. It's pretty easy to install, sometimes my husband has to unscrew the old one.
