I don't know what happened to the original grommets but wanted to be able to attach the neck strap to the camera before lending it. seems expensive for these few pieces of leather, fittings?

My K3, like many modern camera bodies, only came with a small camera mount that you can't thread a strap through. Triangular metal rings correct this, while a leather element protects the camera body from the ring.

If you don't want the area around your camera mounts to look like an EBay "AS IS" camera then you need this! I use them on all my cameras, from the most expensive to the cheapest.

If you need this pair of eyelets, you should definitely get them. I have an old digital Leica that still takes amazing pictures but I got tired of carrying it with a wrist strap so I added a shoulder strap. I probably lost what came with the camera so I had to add these strap rings. It took some effort to hook the rings through the protective leather sheaths, but I managed. Works as it should. if you need it, you must have it.

Mine was not made from real leather. A closer look reveals that both sides are actually thin synthetic leather with black foam in the middle (similar to shoe soles or soft vinyl pads). I doubt the foam and thin faux leather are strong enough against rubbing and stretching in this area. Don't advertise it as real leather, call it what it is: foam with a faux leather layer.
