We received this fan today and thank Vornado for including the hex key for installation. I assembled this fan in about 10 minutes and it works great. Just in time as we recently experienced a heat wave in Colorado. In the summer we depend on fans as we live at about 8500 feet and air conditioning makes no sense as we need it about a month a year. This fan is amazing. It's really a circulator, not just a fan. I can feel it even at low frequencies throughout the room, not just in front of me. I thought all of this description of the vortex was advertising, but it's not. It's a medium sized fan, but it's not big at all. I previously ordered a Dyson bladeless fan (AM07) because it was aesthetically pleasing and worked well. However, while visiting Bed Bath & Beyond for some other reason, I came across this fan in a shop. Long story short, I got Dyson back. When I passed the Vornado, this fan was really powerful, and the medium setting of this fan is much more powerful than the Dyson. So obviously this is a beautiful vintage design, well made with mostly metal parts. I have another fan from this range in my bedroom and love how well it circulates the air around the room so quietly and thought why not choose a larger floor area when I was looking for a nice big fan for our living room .
