Review on Vornado Pedestal Vintage Circulator White by Helen Spencer

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Very nice pedestal fan

This fan is amazing. It's really a circulator, not just a fan. I can feel it even at low frequencies throughout the room, not just in front of me. I thought all of this description of the vortex was advertising, but it's not. It's a medium sized fan, but it's not big at all. The perimeter of the grille isn't as large as a standard 12" oscillator fan, but it exhausts more air than many fans of this size. This is a beautiful fan made entirely of metal except for the switch and blade. A good chromed metal switch shouldn't be that difficult to make. The blade is plastic but I don't mind because metal blades are louder. If Vornado wanted to add elegance, they could use a chrome or brushed metal plastic blade, but those are small things that wouldn't add functionality, just looks. The only thing I don't like about some Vornado fans is removing the grille for cleaning. The grille is not easy to remove and replace. I just don't know why they can't develop an easily removable grille. It's not impossible, just a hassle to remove and replace, and if you're not careful you can scratch the paintwork. But overall this is a good air circulator, very quiet at low rpm and not bad at mid to high rpm. My fan had no problems out of the box. I bought a cream model and am very satisfied. I'm also glad they used a mechanical switch because Alexa can turn it on and off. This is not possible with a digital switch.

Pros

Cons
  • Big and bulky
