Great Product: Gas Cap

They fit exactly like the original caps. My old hats were over 20 years old and finally starting to crack. Hope these last as long.

Pros
  • Heavy Duty Finish
Cons
  • Volume

Good replacement for better tank cap

So far I like it. It seems to be a little better made than the factory cap and when I use it to put diesel in a tractor it doesn't leak all over like the original.

Pros
  • Excellent design
Cons
  • Upgradeable

LET THE BUYER BE ATTENTION! Best Fuel System

later BUYER WARNING! This item comes WITHOUT internal O-ring. If you don't have an o-ring that fits in the lid, it's practically useless and will leak out like a strainer. you have been warned

  • Free for Educational Purposes

I am no longer a VP customer.

VP Racing also sells products under a different name. I bought "U-Jug" from Menards and it is made by VP. It leaked immediately and wouldn't close. I changed it, poured expensive fuel right into the parking lot, and the new one leaked too. I ordered this cap, exactly the same as the one on the 'U-Jug' and it's still leaking. Contacted the VP whose address is on "U-Jug" before returning the first container and received NO reply. Thank you VP

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • There are disadvantages

Withstands ethanol exposure well

Seems to withstand the harsh environment of ethanol poisoned gas well, unlike the VP Racing breather caps where the nipples have fallen into the canister from being eaten by ethanol. VP seals hold up much better than my previous race gas canisters I've used (think race vendors that start with "J" and almost rhyme with "eggs"). It's good to have a few of these spares on hand when I need to store a gas bottle under the trunk lid of a truck and don't want the filler hose to get in the way.

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Replacement availability

Will not fit Sunoco Race jars without 3D printing modification

Bought four of these caps to replace Sunoco Race jar caps that failed after a month of moderate use. I took a chance on using these instead of the Sunoco caps because of the huge $15 price difference and not wanting to have more caps that fail more often. They have extra material around the hose threads where all of my Sunoco caps have failed. They will be phased out on Sunoco Race jugs, but work with a 3D printed TPU seal that works in conjunction with the o-ring installed in these lids. If…

Not only totally useless but also dangerous

Used them for the first time today to use with new 5 gallon VP jugs that were to replace an old model from the same manufacturer, den I have. It's been almost 10 years and still works fine. The caps on them don't seal at all and more gas comes out of the neck/seal than out of the hose. It is clear to me (and now confirmed by Revane and Horr) that either the threads on the jar or the threads on the lid are defective (or both). not to mention the gasoline most of us use them for. I hope others…

Pros
  • Best in its niche
Cons
  • Something different

Slightly overpriced

A bit pricey for a plastic gas cap that doesn't even include a hose. I had a non-VP brand very similar to VP cans that I had literally just bought and filled while sitting in the back of my truck and someone reached over the side of my truck and just stole the lid on the top. I wasn't sure if this would fit not a VP but a similar tin but I couldn't imagine throwing away a new tin just because the lid was off so I took a chance, it fitted perfectly. I was tormented by the thought of spending so…
