Description of πŸ”Š VTech DM271-102 Audio Baby Monitor: Enhanced Features for Secure Monitoring

Hear every sound your child makes over a secure, DECT 6.0 connection knowing no one but you is listening. Know if your child is somewhere off-limits with open/closed and motion sensor alerts on doors, cabinets, open spaces or anywhere else you want to safeguard. The baby unit doubles as a glow-on-ceiling night light that projects stars and the moon onto the ceiling and can be easily adjusted to best suit your nursery. The DM271-102 plays a gentle lullaby to soothe your baby during quiet time. Other features include a two-way, talk-back intercom, built-in belt clip and up to 1,000 feet of range.

Not suitable for the elderly!

Purchased for parents with dementia. NOT SUITABLE for this. While it can be a great baby monitor (can hear voices), it's very low in vibration and movement!

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Concerns me

The sound is clear and the door alarm is amazing!

We have a 12 year old son with autism who doesn't sleep at night. We love the alarm that goes off when he opens and closes the door and we also keep a date and time log of when the door opens and closes so we know when he got up. The sound quality is crisp, overall we are very happy with it.

Pros
  • An absolute legend
Cons
  • Some shortcomings

Need work.: Monitors

I wanted to love this. Love all the features, the door sensor is such a nice addition and my kids loved the projector. I had to send it back twice. The baby unit on the first stopped working a few minutes after installation. The replacement parent unit I received stopped working after a few days. I rang. Technical support was unable to resolve any of the issues either time.

Pros
  • Cool
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

Excellent Baby Monitor

I really like these baby monitors. We now have three different types of vtech baby monitors. Have been using them for 3 years and 2 kids. We had one of these (this model is DM271) which broke after 3 months of use but we filed a warranty claim with vtech and they sent us a newer model free of charge. It was a bit of a hassle to make a warranty claim but in the end they kept their word and replaced it for free. Our daughter really likes the model with the lullaby, unfortunately the new versions…

Don't pay more to downgrade. Avoid.

This item has no improvement over its predecessor (vech dm221) other than a modern look. It's mostly missing features and/or has issues that weren't present in the previous version. No loop/hanger at top. This will force you to hold the parent unit sideways, which will inevitably result in the talk button being pressed.2. The previous version has the same power supply for the parent unit and the monitor. This new version has two different power supplies. This is more of an annoyance than a…

Pros
  • Easy installation
Cons
  • too blunt
