Perfect repair of a small hole in the EGR tube

1990 Ford Ltd removed the EGR tube. The perfect repair of a small hole in the EGR tube, a pipe bender and a welder were required to complete the task.

Cons
  • Almost everything is fine

So far, so good. I rode it over 100km.

So far so good. Drove it about 100 miles plus about 20 minutes idling on the driveway. It's hooked up to a rollator on a '91 Dodge B250 5.9.

Pros
  • Catalysts and spare parts
Cons
  • There are nuances

Worked great for 95 F150

Hard to see in the picture but the HT hose is larger on one end. I didn't measure, but the inside diameter is about 3/4" at the large end and about 1/2" at the small end. I didn't use metal tubes as my aftermarket crampons didn't have air channels. Instead, I got an O2 socket with a plug. Welded the male, drilled and tapped the male for 1/4 NPT, used an elbow and a 1/4 pipe nipple with a plain thread on the end that goes into the hose. My dual exhaust now passes the mandatory visual emissions…

Pros
  • Spares
Cons
  • Volume
