Description of πŸš€ Enhanced Performance with the Walker Products 245-1102 Mass Air Flow Sensor

Walker Products Mass Airflow ( MAF ) sensor measures the amount of air by weight through changing voltages or frequencies. MAF Sensor sends information collected to the onboard computer. The computer uses this and other inputs to calculate the correct amount of fuel delivered. Symptoms of failure MAF include poor starting, engine surging, engine stalling, a check engine light, and no-start conditions. Sensors are non-serviceable, replace sensors that are non-functional. - Engine runs worse - 2.3 Ford Ranger - Waste of time and money

2.3L Ford Ranger **NOT WORKING**DOES NOT SEAL the air intake** GET ENGINE CODE which had no prior coding which was very bumpy and uneven** OFF - and INSTALL old FORD sensor (cleaned), old sensor works great ** DO NOT BUY - waste of time and money

Pros
  • Longevity trim
Cons
  • Compatibility

They even supply a TBIT driver to remove the screws.

Worked as expected. The machine runs much quieter. But what really impressed me was that they provided a tool to destroy crews. TBIT screw. Most of us don't have a TBIT driver. Walker will provide you with your own. Great job Walkers

Pros
  • MAF trouble symptoms include poor starting, engine pumping, engine stalling, check engine light and no starting. Sensors are defective, replace non-working sensors
Cons
  • Not bad, but...

Powered by the 2003 Ford Ranger Edge, 3.0 flex fuel engine.

108,000 miles, the OEM MAF just didn't read properly and clearing it didn't help anymore. This is installed in 2 minutes and has worked flawlessly so far. There were no more rough idles and fuel consumption was back to normal. It comes with 2 new screws and a Torx bit with a protective head, which is needed to remove and install the original screw.

Pros
  • The computer uses this and other inputs to calculate the correct amount of fuel to deliver
Cons
  • Some errors

If you need this sensor, buy this brand!

I have to give this product 5 stars. The sensor was identical and worked as expected. The reason I'm forced to write a review and give 5 stars is because the OE MAF sensor is installed with protective TORX screws and a piece to remove those screws came with it. This is something that is rarely seen today, and that alone is worth the time I've spent writing on the subject. Thank you to everyone who looked ahead and realized that this is a much-needed accessory!

Pros
  • Mass air flow sensor sends collected information to onboard computer
Cons
  • Not sure

The first thing that's really nice is that they include a fancy stylized screw cap that fits OEM propellers that are attached to the original heads of an unusual type. on the MAF. Once I opened the box, replacing the MAF was a breeze. It took 5 minutes then the Mercury Sable started and after 3 seconds it was running so smoothly he knew the part had been replaced. I wasn't sure if this would fix the P0171=P0174 codes causing the problem as it could be a vacuum issue if not the MAF. I checked…

Pros
  • Walker Products Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor measures airflow by weight by changing voltage or frequency
Cons
  • Operating speed
