The questionable cost of replacement lenses for sunglasses

There was both emerald and gold - the colors are great. Unfortunately they all seem to last about 6 months of regular (sporting, not everyday) use before the color coating wears off (no scratches just smudges - after use they are cleaned one by one with the provided cloth and clear water and dry gently) . . It would be nice if they endured. You can find discount coupons for e-rudy all over the internet and get original lenses for 10 more and they last MUCH longer (I have some that are 5+ years…

Transitions from light gray to dark gray in direct sunlight.

These should be transition lenses. This means they go from light to dark indoors and go outside in the sun. When I received them and took them out of the cloth bag, they were already dark. I took her outside, then inside, but it's the same. It's like they're just permanently tinted lenses. Article: WL073-TR, color: transition to that on the packaging. But maybe the wrong lenses were packed. Otherwise this is a great pair of lenses. I previously bought a clear one for the room and it fits and…

So far so good, spare lenses for sunglasses

My original Rudy Project lenses are discolored. Strange. Has never happened to me with sunglasses. These replacement lenses fit well, are a nice gray color just like the original lenses and have good optics. They're not as thick as the originals, so I think they're less impact resistant. As long as I keep my face off the sidewalk, I can walk!

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Neutral

These lenses are great. I bought lenses of the same type from another manufacturer, but they didn't fit (too loosely) even after two tries from this company. They fit snugly and perfectly, just like OEM Rydon lenses. They're a good thickness, the color and specular finish are fine, and I've checked that they're properly polarized. How long they will last remains to be seen, but I recommend this immediately. For the price I'm very impressed.

Just Stay Dark Lenses

These lenses do not appear to be photochromatic as advertised. The light gray color you see in the photos does not exist. When I opened the box, the lenses were dark black, which seemed strange given that they came from a dark, fully sealed box. They never brightened. When I contacted customer service, the rep was condescending, bordering on the rude, implying that I had no idea how photochromic lenses work. Things happen and things don't work. I understand. What didn't interest me at all was…

Rudy Ryon interchangeable lenses - love them!

I love these lenses! Bought my second pair for my Rudy Rydon RX frames. My original lenses were chipped so I didn't wear them. You get three for the price of original interchangeable lenses! The box comes sealed. When you open it, the lenses are in a pouch with a cleaning cloth. There are two compartments in the bag so they won't scratch each other when mixing. Very easy to fit in the slot. I like to wear them when playing golf. Bought a third color.

Nice and snug fit, great price

Fits my Rudy Project Rydon frames with prescription, they are nice and snug. I bought replacement Revant lenses but they got lost and the lenses fell out of the frame in the woods and were never seen again. These lenses are good and tight and are expected to stay in rotation for a long time.

Pros
  • A dream come true
Cons
  • Only available in black

Great value for money, best value for accessories

My Rydon clear lenses are badly scratched after years of use. Clear replacement lenses from the manufacturer cost about $65. I found them online by accident and at $9.99 for polycarbonate lenses, no problem. They arrived the next day and fit perfectly. The lenses are very clear and I look forward to trying them out soon.

High reflections and unwanted glare Moderate to predominant

For polarized lenses with titanium mirror coating: I've seen a moderate amount of flare and lots of reflections when wearing these lenses in bright light. These lenses should be semi-reflective or anti-reflective, meaning moderately reflective. As for the lenses and their polarization effect (light, not people), the close-up sharpness leaves something to be desired, although it is very good when looking at the distance. The colors are almost natural, ie the sunglasses are slightly polarized…
