The mattress topper that came with my Nektar mattress was too hot and very thin so I bought this cover. It's MUCH cooler now, and this thing has some serious protection. I accidentally fell asleep with a ballpoint pen and the ink spread out in all directions and hit everything BUT didn't break through the protection. I was able to flush it twice and remove all the ink. Since the material is waterproof, it dries quickly.

The cover snapped together easily and the zip worked perfectly. We were in no hurry to fasten it shut so it wouldn't get stuck. I have not found any smell of the product that I can remember. I washed it before we took it to my daughter's dorm. The only thing we struggled with and gave up on was a red plastic loop at the end of the build that further covers the zip and velcro area. It was impossible, and I wasn't sure I understood the purpose behind it.

So far so good. Cover is 2-4" larger in width - edge to edge fits perfectly. The depth is good and not too cozy. (We have a 10 inch mattress) I didn't understand the bureaucracy and the included piece to attach the zipper and how it was supposed to work. or why is it even needed. The red ribbon broke when I tried to thread it through a small zippered hole. This was a surprise as I didn't actually draw on it. If it was a little better I would give 5 stars.

My dogs have beds that are cut from memory foam mattresses. I tuck the mattresses into a zip-up cover and then I can make their beds with regular sheets.
