it's about video and not Displaylink technology. This limits the dock to 4k 30hz, not 60hz. The upside is that Displaylink docks are never very small and usually cost at least twice as much as this one. Either way this dock is great for most uses unless you are really into 4k this will work for you.

So I used it to connect my laptop to an HDMI monitor and hooked up my camcorder, keyboard and mouse and everything worked perfectly! No drivers need to be installed. Just plugged into the USB-C port on the side of the laptop and it worked flawlessly. And it's wearable. Great device.

I've been trying to get this product to work stably for over a week. All connections work, but sometimes the HDMI port doesn't show anything. I tried to find the drivers on the Wavlink website (the driver download link doesn't work) but there is no corresponding driver to download for this model. Plug in Play is one of the best devices you can get. This small docking station connects to Mac and PC without drivers. I've bought other docks that required microSD drivers, but this one worked great. I was able to connect 3 monitors to my Dell XPS. No questions. Records 4K video very well. Doesn't get hot or warm after hours of use like some small docks I've used.
