made of cheap plastic.

is one of those cheap plastic boxes. I did some work. But two ports stopped responding. Not recommended unless you can fix it yourself.

Trouble Sometimes

The torque on the connected cable tends to flip it. Double sided tape fixes this, but I used it on a laptop so I was only able to use it in one permanent location. Otherwise it works!

Doesn't work with mouse

Purchased to connect a mouse and other devices. Connected a mouse, but it does not work. The WAV LINK webpage advises that in this case you may need a USB 2.0 cable to avoid interference. What the hell? Useless you know what.

Only 1 out of 4 ports works! Do not buy!

When it first came out, 3 out of 4 ports worked. I was disappointed that all 4 didn't work, but all I really needed was 3 ports so I could forget about it. But now, a little over two weeks later, only 1 port is working. The other 3 don't give a fuck! I am very very disappointed in this product. I will be returning it and will probably think twice about buying this brand again. I suggest looking elsewhere.

I'm glad I bought this addon

Compact, handy and useful. My laptop only has 3 USB ports, one of which is occupied by a wireless mouse and the other two are so close together that you can't use two sideXside flash drives, so the ports ran out quickly. I got scared when one of the two flash drives connected to it went blank, not a single file appeared even when the drive was recognized. Everything was fine, ie connect your thumb to another computer and the files were still there. I don't know if it was Wavlink or a thumbs up.
