Nice color but doesn't last long to cover gray hair

I wanted a demi permanent color that lasted longer than usual to cover my roots but it didn't give the results I was hoping for . I've used Midway several times as a replacement for Colorcharm's demi-permanent medium brown. The color is nice and warm, not too dark and bright. But I found that after a week(!) it washes out leaving a somewhat faded color. I'm thinking about going back to Colorcharm.
