It seemed too good to be true (at this price point); and it was!

The motor shaft is incorrect causing it to be off center and unusable. I received it today and wasted my time ordering it. I needed to replace my die-hard Dremel tool and was about to hit the buy button when this one caught my eye at an insanely low price. Decided to take a chance. I opened the box, took it out, installed it a little and turned it on, I immediately saw that there was a strong "beating" of the wave. I thought the collet might be off center so I tried different collets. It wasn't

Pros
  • Built-in spindle lock allows for quick and easy bit changes. Collets 2.3mm and 3.2mm
Cons
  • Can't remember

Here's a tip for the flex shaft

Great tool for the price. Here is a tip for the flexible shaft user. I read reviews about the flex shaft and they were mixed. I read that the shaft gets hot and broke in some reviews. To solve this problem, I used Echo brand gear lube (yes, the line trimmer brand). It comes in a white tube and is a white lube that is really sticky. I bought mine from a local Echo dealer many years ago. There are probably other brands of trimmer lube out there, but I haven't checked. I haven't looked for it here

Pros
  • Attach the included flex shaft for jobs that require intricate detail and precision
Cons
  • Easily wrinkled

Cheaper alternative to Dremel

I use a flexible shaft with a cordless Dremel 8220 for wood carving. I bought this because I need a corded version so I don't have to keep changing and charging my Dremel's batteries and I can't afford to pay for a corded Dremel. A few things on this compared to the Dremel: 1) You can tell right away that there's a big drop in quality by just looking at it and then grabbing it and feeling it. The accessory looks even cheaper than the tool and I haven't even tried it yet. 2) While the flex shaft

Pros
  • Ideal for cutting, sanding, polishing, shaping, drilling, deburring, sanding, etc.
Cons
  • Crumpled
