I really wanted this to work on my fragile 1.5 inch high shaggy carpet. Unfortunately, he didn't pick up the tangled down fibers because they were too thin and weak. Wool fibers are very thin and light, so I suspect this doesn't work for many typical shaggy rugs.

I think this shag nozzle could be improved. Somehow it has a little more suction and not directly under the connection. Other than that, this little attachment does a pretty good job. It takes a bit of work, but I have a feeling it's dealing with a shaggy carpet. I've found that quick, repetitive motions in the shape of a V or W work great for plucking pet hair. I hooked it up to my ShopVac that I use on my hardwood floors and it works great. I've used it with and without extensions.
