You only get about 75% of the functionality of the RapidBox if you don't use it for the cosmetic tray function. It's really amazing how great it shines. Adds just enough highlights to portraits to make them sharp without harshness.

This is what I wanted and was easy to use. My only complaint is that I wish there was finger texture on the mounting screw because mine gets jammed all the time and I have to find a screwdriver or the back edge of a knife to loosen it. The rest works great!

Works well; I would suggest putting a dab of CA on the small screw and then unscrewing the plate + screw + connector from the main shaft in the softbox as the small screw is easily lost in breakage/transportation.

It's hard to justify $20 for stamped plastic parts and some fasteners, but they do a great job of turning the Rapid Box's light output into little more than a cosmetic bowl . The panel can be installed in two ways; concave outwards or concave inwards. I haven't really experimented with the differences, although I'm sure the differences will mostly be edge feathering, especially when used without a diffuser face.
