Early failure of internal hard drives

Was OE in Vostro 1520. 10 months in use. The owner hasn't reported any issues so far, but has noticed occasional slow downloads. The failure was complete and catastrophic with no ability to clean files, although the drive initially powered up, was not recognized on the USB interface, and encountered more than expected vibrations during spin up. Dell, no questions asked, will replace the drive with the orig W7 operating system installed. Redistributed after installation, since deleting files…

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Long time

The drive is great for storage

This Western Digital fitted my Dell laptop easily. My computer is faster now because this drive has high speed. I used to have an 80GB drive, this 250GB is much better.

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Can I add anything

Fast Hard Drive - Data Storage

Replaced the hard drives in the Dell D620 and older Sony Vaio with this model. Both computers were faster but noticeably hotter. The Sony fan ran almost continuously at full speed. The Dell fan turned on during a long data transfer. Affordable price for performance and speed.

WD2500BJKT: storage

purchase/handling/shipping etc. Everything super. The hard drive arrived working. while it works perfectly. Let's see how long this lasts. From personal experience with Western Digital. Had 3 HD for 6 years of decent use, everything works fine.

Pros
  • hands-free
Cons
  • not the best

Works well - no problem - bought because of the drop sensor feature

I bought this because of the drop sensor feature. This is a feature that is difficult to test, but sounds like it would be useful. This drive replaced one that died in a friend's laptop and worked great. I haven't noticed any issues with excessive heat or noise.

Pros
  • Don't waste too much time
Cons
  • Nothing here

Very fast! for internal hard drives

I installed this in an old Dell E1505 with Solo core. The performance of the laptop has increased with a faster hard drive. with durability. This is the winner.

Excellent drive and value for money

Excellent performance and value for money. I installed it in our Dell Inspiron 1525 as a replacement for a failed standard hard drive. It's noticeably faster than the OEM drive despite being the same size and rotation speed - both running Windows 7 Home Premium. I think it's worth paying a little extra for the drop sensor feature, which I really appreciate to keep this from prematurely dying like our previous one.

Pros
  • Large selection
Cons
  • Slightly dented
