This light is enough to dimly illuminate a room or hallway at night --- that's why I bought it. Don't be fooled that there will be more than enough light to keep you from stumbling at night.

I just bought this bulb to put in my chicken coop and use as a night light. For this he puts a lot of light aside. I like that it fits in a standard size lamp socket. I put my lightbulb in one of those little porcelain sockets. Works perfectly

I bought two of these (red) for those times I need some light in the bedroom (put them in an overhead light) without dangerous candles. It's great for a quiet romantic night or just relaxing with some light music. I also consider it to take a relaxing bath. This isn't for you if you're trying to "illuminate" a room or corner on the cheap. But for a soft glow that's not entirely dim and incredibly energy efficient, I think this is the perfect choice.
