💡 Westinghouse 0497600 Halogen Double Ended Bulbs 2 Pack Review

Just what we needed for our old Tourchier lamp. It fits - it works - it can dim - and now we have a replacement part. Just remember to wear gloves during installation. I was told by Home Depot that these types of lightbulbs could react to our human fat on our skin and explode. Easy enough to put on a glove during installation.

I don't like a lamp that doesn't work! I'm glad there were 2 in the package. So far the 2nd bulb has lasted over 6 hours so the 2nd bulb is fine. However, the 6 hour lamp lowered my rating. (Just in case, these lamps were installed without touching the glass as I understand body oil can affect durability.)

On May 17th I placed an order for 2 packs. It arrived a few days later and I installed one in my living room as a floor lamp. Today is June 30th and the lightbulb has burned out! This is only about 40 days using an incandescent bulb. It's an absurdly short life. I have to assume I received a blown bulb but I think the real test is to see how long the second bulb from this pack lasts.

We replaced a lightbulb in an old lamp we inherited and we've just discovered its lighting potential! Instructions for using a rubber glove so that no sebum gets on the lamp, if this is really important - read about it in someone else's review. Bright and pleasant natural light. Very satisfied.
