💡 Westinghouse Lighting White 7028600 Mini-Pendant Kit with Single-Light Finish Review

The cable here is very long (too long). After sticking it about 3 feet into the light box, I had to tie an extra foot to the "arch" just below the ceiling. Aligning the bolts with the ball nut holes was also a challenge. After finally installing it, it looks great with my paper lampshade.

I bought a pendant light for a girls room from Ikea. When I opened the box, I found that there was no connection for hanging from the ceiling, but a cord with a regular plug for an outlet. I really liked the light and didn't intend to drive another 40 minutes to Ikea to get it back. So I ordered this Westinghouse lighting kit and my husband cut it to the right length and also cut the cord or light, plugged it in and now it's finally hanging proudly in my adorable pink girls room!

The product itself is really great for the price, but it was a bit big for the lampshade we bought. The socket didn't go through the ring in the lampshade, which struck me as odd. I managed to disassemble the socket into two parts and insert it into the lampshade ring. Installing the ceiling was excruciating, but not because of the product—because the skylight cover was too small to replace the fan hole we removed, and I'm not the most experienced electrician. It was very easy to adjust the length and install. I liked that it comes with a long cord so you can bring it into your home and then look at it and decide how long you want it to end up being. If you shorten it (we did it), you'll need to strip new sections of wire. but if you're not comfortable with that, you should probably hire an electrician to do all the work. Excellent lamp! I bought a mini trailer kit with a light and white trim. The cord was a bit long, but that's an easy and welcome solution! The kit was extremely easy to install (even for a beginner) and the color matches the description. Remember that if you haven't painted your house recently or you live in a brand new house, this white color will appear whiter than your ceiling.
