Good quality sockets at a good price

What can one say about sockets? They seem to be of good quality, but once this is all done they will not be visible. The wrought iron artist was satisfied with this. I am planning to add them to a custom wrought iron Rooster chandelier (currently in the making). I purchased these together with: a B&P lamp, 4" antique polyester wax candle covers for candelabra holders and a decorative hexagonal chandelier shade from Royal Designs, 2.5 x 5 x 4.5" (CS-403BG - 6)

Pros
  • Dope 🔥
Cons
  • Expensive

Warning: 3.5 " minimum, not 3.25 " as advertised.

It looks like it might work but I have no idea how they measure it. The overall length from the base to the top is at least 3.5 inches (and that's after removing the side screws and lifting the sidebar all the way up). With a cardboard lid and sides properly attached, the minimum length is 3.75 inches. That's not counting a small flange that protrudes from the base and adds an extra 1/8 inch. So it's too long for my needs (3.25 inches) and I'll have to return it and spend a few days longer.

Pros
  • Easy installation
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

Let there be (not flickering) light!

If your classic/vintage chandelier bulbs are flickering, you may need to fix them. It was pretty easy to install, although I'm not sure my grandma could have done it. I'm not an electrician, but just in case, turn off the power with a circuit breaker. However, I just made sure my kids didn't turn on the lights in the middle of the setup. You have to unplug the wires from the old one (note which wire color goes with which screw color), then unscrew the old one, screw in the new one, reconnect…

Pros
  • Impressive
Cons
  • Boring packaging
