Description of White LED Backlight Module Medium

These pretty strips of light are plastic diffused backlights, often seen in LCD displays. Normally they're tucked behind the LCD and shine white light from below. Each LED is encased in a 3.5mm thick strip of a acrylic. The acrylic strip is a special type that is very good at diffusing light, so even though there is only one single white LED, it provides near-uniform lighting. Backlight has a 0.8" by 3" (23mm x 75mm) lit area. Dimensions: 107.5mm x 22.6mm x 2.7mm / 4.2in x 0.8in x 0.1in. Weight: 5.6g.

Fantastic bright light.

The light is very even and well distributed. We have used about 100 of these with no problems Correct current and voltage 20mA at 3V We use a 330 ohm resistor in series to power the light at 9VDC.

Ideal for LED nameplates

Great item for LED signs and lighting (eg DIY night lights). burn an LED if you don't use resistors of appropriate values. One way to use them is simple - in "throw" mode: just run two wires to the + and - sides of a CR2032 button battery. The problem with this is that Revain's cost is too high compared to supplier Adafruit.

Fantastic light from a single LED!

I didn't buy this to light the display but to light a Christmas display in a glass block. After connecting to the battery, it worked great! The light is full and bright, which is particularly impressive as it comes from a single LED! Reflective plastic perfectly distributes the light. The light is naturally a cool white. So if you use it like I do, I would suggest using a gel to warm up the white light a bit.
