This is rubbish. While the bars appear solid, the "eyelets" are very thin plastic and will NOT snap together - they are too small to fit around the bar. Yes, I have read and followed the instructions. If the sleeves converge on one side, they don't connect on the other. There were only a few "plastic cups" in the kit and most of the ones that were present were broken. No wonder, because they were hardly thicker than a plastic bag. We haven't had them for a long time but so far I'm really liking these shelves. They were easy to assemble (even alone). I followed the advice I read to install the bottom shelves before connecting the posts to make them longer. I think it helped, but I'm sure there is another way. I had no trouble snapping the connectors into place. This is the third and last Whitmore product I will purchase. The other two purchases were freestanding clothes racks and they didn't match, let alone hold clothes. Gave them back. This rust is just as bad if not worse. Metal is fine, but you must put a connector sleeve around each metal post, and the sleeves are too small to fit together.
