I mainly paint miniature figures with light acrylic paints. Before I got this, I used a plain coffee mug to clean my brushes. I bought this because the idea of using a steel spiral to clean my brush seemed so amazing to me. It worked great for a week or two to clean my brushes of the standard acrylic paint I use on miniatures. However, I did notice that my brushes started to snag as I rubbed the bristles with the spool. Update I bought a second 1 and this 1 is leaking badly. Not worth returning. So it sucks. The title says I like it. I was afraid it would be too small or too big, but it's kind of the best of both worlds. Now there are many questions and concerns about the internal spring. Yes, you can take it off, but here's the thing. Before using it will be a little difficult. Remember it's aluminum, just keep working on it and bend it a bit and it will pop out.
