Expensive junk: wireless mics and systems

I bought this set of lavalier mics for my wedding. We tested all 4 mics at different settings to ensure there was no interference and within a range of no more than 5ft. Literally 5 feet of great sound and then 6 feet cut off and useless. Don't waste your time. Spend a little more and buy something better or rent gear.

Pros
  • Top marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Style 90

Terrible DO NOT BUY!

These mics sound like a tin can. Don't buy them if you output sound to the system. They may work properly when the audio is being sent for recording and cannot be heard in the room. They are overwhelmingly packed with high frequencies, and no matter how I tweaked the EQ, there was feedback at SOME frequencies. Terrible quality, it's not clear why and how anyone uses it.

Pros
  • Cool
Cons
  • I have some doubts

Nice addition to my sound setup

I've tested this system and it works fine - good wireless range, good sound quality. Barbell headphones pick up sound great, lavalier headphones need more gain to match, so it's important to have everything set up and balanced on both the receiver and amplifier in your sound system. The presence of separate outputs, as well as mixed outputs, makes this possible. The stage production was excellent - much better than trying to have mics on stage.

Pros
  • Don't waste too much time
Cons
  • Miscellaneous Miscellaneous

Worked as stated. Good value for money.

Disclaimer: This is NOT a professional system that you would use at a paid concert. I bought this out of my own pocket so I wouldn't get in trouble at a children's event at church that I volunteered for. I was not disappointed. The microphones worked perfectly, only one of the devices had a couple of momentary blackouts. The sound quality was acceptable. There was no RF hash on these devices even when I had 4 extra active radio frequencies. The job was done and I feel I got a good bang for my…

You get what you pay for

As the title says, you get what you pay for! It can work as a wireless microphone and it works. If there's an obstacle between the microphone and the receiver, expect things to be less than perfect. Expect the following: Noise - Lots of noise even when the gain is close to 0. There is a lot of crackle with these mics. If you plan on using it for video recording, make sure you give yourself 20 hours of noise reduction and you won't be able to clean it up just because the mic is close to the…

Pros
  • Great overall performance

  • Little things

Why build a product if it doesn't work?

See, okay, so I understand "you get what you pay for". I understand. What I don't understand is why companies even bother building a product if they can't make it work. Yes, it's a good deal for UHF mics, but does that mean they don't have to at least try to make them work? I got them for a theatrical performance and they didn't even need reinforcement. Because of the pandemic we put on a show outside and the sound hit the FM station and people watched from their cars and listened to the radio.
