A few hours and I still couldn't get them to work

I've spent hours with them and after finally being able to connect my phone to them, they still don't work with a very simple lamp. The app wasn't intuitive to connect to my network, but it finally seems to have worked. I connected the lamp (which was on) to the adapter and unsuccessfully tried to control it from the phone. From there I tried using the button that is physically on the adapter and it clicked, but even that didn't work. Shortly after, I noticed that the adapter seemed to…
