The dealer wanted $42 for the filter. Easy to install once you find the spot: slot behind the glove box. Lower the glove box, open the rectangular lid, pull out the old filter and insert the new one. Old, dirty and gray after 15,000 miles. Almost immediately I noticed an improvement in the air. I'll replace every 10,000 because it's cheap and helps keep the interior clean and smelling nice. Just do it yourself

Wix is the name for filters, but there's nothing special about this filter. It looked like any other fake made in China and was far less important than the original filter that I replaced in the 2018 Explorer. But for a cabin air filter, the price is right and I'm sure it will fit. work is just great. If I were replacing a more important engine air filter I would probably go to the OEM.

I worked in the auto parts industry a while back. Wix is probably still the biggest auto filter manufacturer and OEM for many companies like Ford etc. They have great products. Cabin filters should be changed regularly, especially if you start smelling when you start your car in the morning. They are usually easy to change yourself. The price of this product is about double ours in many auto parts stores.
