This is normal for what it is. It fits comfortably in the CD compartment. I can't speak of any damage to the CD player as I no longer use it in my car with the advent of the iPod connector. It's durable and keeps the phone in the right position. Handles well even on bumpy roads. Best of all, it's about eye level, so when I look at my phone, I'm also looking at the street.

This is exactly what I needed. I didn't like the old brackets that held the windshield in place as they tend to fall off, especially in extreme heat or cold. Also, I have a DVR and didn't want my phone to ruin the view. It fits perfectly in the CD slot and holds my phone very securely. It's even closer to me so I can see it even better when I'm driving and need direction. I would recommend this to everyone.

Very glad we found this solution. If you have a car where you can't or don't want to use the air vents, and the CD player is above the center console (so you don't have to look at your phone), this is probably the best solution. We've tried several variations of this style and this particular design is our favorite because it holds the phone higher up the CD slot than any other. Very easy to install, durable and holds the phone very well.

This is a terrible device. I've had two other CD holders in the past and this is by far the worst. The part holding the phone is rounded and doesn't hold edges well. The bottom lip is narrow, as if intended for the lightest, most insignificant profile of the phone. I need to be able to use this for google maps but when you click on the device it moves in the stand. As I drive, the mount wobbles up and down like I'm riding on train tracks! Completely disappointed.

I love this phone holder! I've never used a CD player in my car so that was great. It is extremely strong and durable. Super easy installation. The material seems solid, but the functionality needs to be redesigned and reconfigured. The bottom protrusion that should hold the phone in place is too narrow and flat, the phone keeps slipping out even with the adjustable side grip.
