They do block out close to 90% or so of sunlight. I needed some light beige blackout curtains. I ordered by mistake the grey curtains and was very pleased with how much sunlight and heat it blocked. Keeps the bright sunlight out. I washed my curtains on light load before I hanged it up. I let my curtains air dry and it came out just fine. I bought 52 x 84 inch curtains. The two curtains is enough for my living room window.

Bought the black color blackout curtains and they do their job on a west facing window to block all the afternoon sun and heat from roasting my family room. With the grommets they are easy to slide open and closed, although you have to take into consideration that grommets vs rod pocket curtains does affect the length a bit. Also with such large grommets the curtains are never closed "flat”. Overall pleased with my purchase and would recommend.

I love the feel and look of the fabric. I returned the curtains the first time because the size was not as ordered. I got a replacement but the size is off again. I don't know if I should return them a second time and just give up or what. You can see the outside light filtering in, so they aren't completely blackout.

I bought these for privacy and to block light. I live where there’s no street lights and it’s pitch black outside. When I went outside to check if the curtains were see through from outside, I couldn’t even tell lights and the tv were on in my bedroom! Excellent!

I shopped for months for blackout curtains and everything would sell out in seconds! Found these and they are perfect! Affordable and not super heavy! These are great quality curtains!

We moved into a house with large windows in every room. When the trees lost their leaves we realized how close our neighbors really were and how cold it really gets in Massachusetts! (We moved from Florida). I bought two pairs of these for my bedroom and loved them so much that we bought 4 more pairs! They are pretty, hang well and block the sun. The feel of them is fabulous! Interestingly, our cats haven’t snagged them either! Totally a great deal.

These are very nice curtains in a heavy fabric. I got the darker gray & they are that color on both sides. I have blinds on the windows where the curtains are hung & they work very well as blackout curtains, (not sure how dark the room would be if the blinds weren’t also there). I’m hoping they work as well in keeping the heat out of the room, which is mainly why I bought them.
