Xbox 360 Rock Band Midi PRO Adapter Review

Good price, arrived quickly and definitely works as intended on my Yamaha dtx500 Electronic Kit and Rockband 3 on Xbox360. Out of the box it was pretty easy "plug and play", the only small change I had to make (using the dtx interface) was I had to change the midi note value for one of the cymbals in order to do that I had a working 'green' panel.. As you have probably read in other reviews, this item has a strange issue where the plastic of the device somehow reacts with the packaging leaving a very sticky residue on it. This leads to many people simply returning them because they are not easy to clean. Instead of sending my unit back, I wrapped it in plastic tape and then cut out all the buttons/switches with a razor. Then I used some cotton swabs and wiped the buttons with alcohol. I ordered this product TWICE and it arrived with that nasty burnt plastic smell that you could tell before you even opened the package. The first photo is the first open one I tested (it was lit, so it seems to be working). As for the second, I didn't even open it to prove it. Something is happening with their production, it's really annoying. It's not easy to clean. It almost smells like battery acid. Also, it's not possible to contact support through the website, they keep sending me an error

Very easy installation. Connect the Midi Pro adapter to the Xbox, then connect the Midi cable to the adapter and the keyboard. For 5 minutes I played the keys of Rockband 3 Pro. I play guitar and wanted to play keys and drums, with this adapter you can play real keys and electronic drums. You will have a hard time finding this item in stores so buy it online. Don't forget to buy a MIDI cable separately. I am very happy with this controller. I used velcro to attach the controller to the keyboard
