Description of XS Pro Digital Vario Multi Resistant Coating

Neutral Density Variable Filter allows photographer to set the density between +1 and +5 stops. XS-Pro Vario ND mount is an extra-wide design and should avoid vignetting concerns with most 17mm lenses on a full body frame. Multi-Resistant Coating (MRC) with Nano Technology with XS-Pro mount and brass ring construction, Front Accessory Thread / Bayonet: 82 mm. May be combined with additional B+W ND Filters of fixed value for higher density choices (ND Vario should be used the as the outermost filter when combined). B+W ND Vario filter can be adapted to your individual requirements.

Unacceptable product

The filter I received was dirty and had fingerprints between the layers of glass. Your product. They didn't even bother to answer.

Pros
  • Best in niche
Cons
  • There are new competitors

Great for my needs - Accessory

For what I need this variable ND filter does the job. Note that when using a variable ND filter, there is a polarizing effect that does not last throughout the rotation. Your shots will look different with different ND settings.

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Damaged

Disappointed with filters and accessories

I have several black and white filters for my lens but this one is not impressive at all. The turning mechanism is quite loose and noisy, not a good idea for video recording - the engraved text on the product looks sloppy, you can see the area just behind the letters. I'm pretty sure this one is real.

Pros
  • Delivery was very fast
Cons
  • Cable is shorter than others

Works great, no flaws

I've read reviews of other negative variable ND filters complaining of X showing up in photos, dark artifacts, and generally unusable photos. I'm happy to report that so far I've had no problems shooting with this filter with a Canon 16-33 F4L lens on a Canon 5D Mark 3 with a 16mm focal length and a fully closed ND filter. Well done B+V.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Flaws

OG Variable ND

If you search a popular video service, you will find a lot of people looking at a product that competes with the B+W Vario ND filter. At least one of these reviews advertises that the competing product "offers serious bang for the buck to B+W" in terms of performance. If you look at the prices, B+W is even cheaper. So the reviewer actually said that the competition was more expensive and not as good. Have questions? let's cancel

Pros
  • Sturdy finish
Cons
  • Some cons

It is great. Does its job with no noticeable changes in .

I was interested in using neutral density but wasn't thrilled with the prospect of fixed dimming and changing or installing multiple filters. Also, costs are starting to rise. I was hoping to have access to a variable filter of steps 1 through 5. That's great. Does its job without a noticeable change in shade from 1 to 5 levels. If 82mm didn't cost so much, I'd take one. This needs to be done for now.

I love this ND filter.

I've been using this ND for about two months. I have others but this is one of my two favorites. As long as it meets all my needs. It even worked well for a promotional shot I took in direct sunlight for silhouette shots. A shot with flowing hair. No complaints here. In case you're wondering, the Freewell Nd variable filter sets other filters that I like. I think the B+W variable has a slightly better color, but Freewell has magnetic filter caps, and while it's unrelated to the image, I think…

Pros
  • Easy installation
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

Excellent VND for the price

I looked at other VNDs before making this purchase and for the price I think the B+W is the best. I've looked at other similarly priced VNDs like the Peter McKinnon Polarpro, but found that B+W performs better in some cases, e.g. B. in the color saturation at certain stops, although the differences were small. For the price I find the B+W to be the best overall value with great quality and I haven't noticed any color shifting issues. The only minor downside to the B+W is the weird dot markers…

Pros
  • Everything is great!
Cons
  • Expensive
