I needed to replace one of the 3 lightbulbs in my cooker hood so I bought a set of 4 expecting the other 2 to fail soon. The first thing I noticed is that the shape of the bulb is slightly different from the Phillips bulb that is being replaced. Looks exactly like the original PAR20 50 watt halogen bulbs that came with the stainless steel VentaHood over our kitchen (over 17 years ago). Plate. They're nice, bright and dimmable. These are great real 50 watt bulbs. Most "50 watt equivalent" lightbulbs tend to burn out fairly quickly and end up costing more (time and money). They were great, especially for the price. I use them with Insteon light switches because they are not compatible with LEDs. There is no neutral wire in my house, so Insteon switches are only compatible with incandescent bulbs. However where I don't have Insteon switches I use LEDs because they usually last longer…
