OEM is the way to go.

Starter solenoid won't turn off, keeps clicking, this is the solution for you. The OEM relay does not suffer from these problems and the old Grizzly 660 starts right up.

Buy this, stay away from the $10 fake

My four wheeler finally starts after years of buying a fake. This is the only way, if you don't want to beat a $10 fake, to get your quad working

Perfect Genuine Part!: Starter

Worked great on my 2000 Kodiak. My starter stayed on to the point where I had to disconnect the battery to keep the starter from burning out. This solved the problem and was very easy to replace.

Pros
  • Great for a small house
Cons
  • Can't remember but there was something

Excellent! Original

I bought a cheaper brand and my Yamaha Grizzly 660 kept running. I had to disconnect the battery to turn my ATV off. I finally spent the money and bought an original Yamaha starter relay. This kid swings.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Weight

Exact replacement good for beginners

later genuine OEM part. All reviews of other, cheaper parts said they should be avoided due to numerous failures, sometimes resulting in a blown starter. This is the exact Yamaha part used in the original production. That works great.

Works well, make no mistake with OEM

Turns out I didn't need it though - the other (original) starter relay was no problem for the 'no start' condition. Still try (but not aggressively) to track down the problem. My 2004 Grizzly has a manual starter, in cases where it accidentally decides not to start I just use it. ;)

  • Electrics and Batteries
Cons
  • Quick Guide

Quality part is the best in starter

This is a quality part. Don't waste your time and money on cheaper aftermarket relays. I went through two before purchasing this OE relay. The first one lasted about 10 starts and then the starter burned out, the second one didn't work out of the box. This has been working flawlessly for about 40 starts. I feel like genuine Yamaha parts are very expensive and this is the first time I've found genuine parts that are worth the extra price.

Pros
  • starter
Cons
  • unreliable
