Paste is great for glue

I know that paste is not used as often as glue these days. A friend did a project with this type of paste and it worked out well. I decided to check it out. Nori paste works well for my artistic uses. I haven't used paste since the early 1960's and now I'm working with it again. Find out.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Dear

Slow Dry Glue Best in Crafting

I have used this glue to make hair ornaments and book bindings. For my taste, it dries too slowly for hair accessories, but this material is just great for gluing paper to book cardboard! I have found that the PVA glue dries too quickly before I can glue the paper to the board. Nori is well and evenly distributed.

Pros
  • Comfortable
Cons
  • Weight

Not your old fashioned glue paste

No, not the kind of glue I used in the 1950's. Seems much better. I have used it on some of my paper art work and have found that it adheres well and the paper does not crease and/or warp. (Well, maybe a little, but less than other glues.) I recommend this product. I keep mine in the fridge as I don't use them often. The manufacturer's literature states that it has a better shelf life if refrigerated after opening.

Ideal for collages

Nori paste does not wrinkle or discolour on most types of paper, making it great for collages. The paper will stick to where you put it, but it can be moved (depending on the thickness of the paper itself) as the paste dries slowly. Adhesion is strong and flat when applied evenly. Cleans with soap and water. 10 ounces. The jar has an inner lid to keep the paste from drying out. This is my universal favorite.

Pros
  • Can be moved when wet, dries clear and leaves no sticky residue
Cons
  • Unreliable

No wrinkles!

If you make junk magazines, you understand my pain. The paper is often not suitable for wet media and you warp a lot when you stick it on. I used this in a standard computer book and the paper dried wrinkle free (YAY). The only thing that struck me is that it's quick to get through and it's not exactly cheap. I'll reserve my opinion on this until I've finished the jar. It was also said to be slow drying, which bothered me a bit, but it wasn't too bad. I was able to go to the next page withoutโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Not for use on parchment, plastic or metal
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks

Just the right amount of tacky spreadable glue and setting time

I literally have about 6 different types of glue in my workshop so I was hesitant to buy another one OTHER than I did decided to try bookbinding, and starch paste was used in several lessons. I'm glad I did. This is a unique roller in my pantheon of adhesives: lightweight and easy to apply in a thin layer. Set-up times are slow enough that you can cover a decent area if you need to 'stick' it and/or have time to reposition things if necessary. Dries to a strong bond but remains somewhatโ€ฆ

Pros
  • This is the perfect paste for the perfect project
Cons
  • Some mistakes
