ordered two, HF works on none

I ordered two devices and wasn't expecting much for the price, but both were broken. They worked with standard RTLSDR software and I could hook them up to a computer and receive HF from them, but they didn't work with HF. In fact, I suspect the HF connector on them isn't connected at all, since when tuned to HF frequencies it can only receive strong signals when connected to the VHF+ connector. On the HF port it was just a shallow waterfall. I have a huge 160 m 1/2 dipole 60 feet away that I…

Pros
  • . You can use the SDR software to receive electromagnetic waves from 100 kHz to 1.7 GHz, AM, FM (NFM, WFM), CW, DSB, LSB and support USB demodulation.
Cons
  • So so

Good product but no instructions

Good product but the instructions are missing. I found the FM sensitivity to be quite good. However, I tried setting it up as a Globaltuners receiver so people could tune it in remotely over the internet and I found I could get either HF (by scanning the output directly) or FM/VHF (by turning it off). could, but no, both at the same time. This is a serious limitation for global tuners as there is no way to change these settings in the web interface. However, using HDSDR, SDR Radio or SdrSharp…

Pros
  • Listen to HF SSB communications, VHF radio, walkie-talkie calls, aviation bands and the like.
Cons
  • Some small things

Windows does not recognize the device!

So far I can't get the thing to work at all. When I plug this into a USB port, Windows either doesn't see it or it comes back with "Windows doesn't recognize the device because of a device error" and error code 43, and when it shows up in Device Manager it says "Unknown USB device (failed device descriptor request)" with a yellow triangle and !. I see many of you had trouble installing this device. Did you have the same problem as me and if so how did you troubleshoot it Maybe it's nothing more

Pros
  • Delivery content: 1 piece. * 100kHz-1.7GHz RTL-SDR USB tuner receiver
Cons
  • Not sure
