This is my third buckwheat pillow. There is almost no buckwheat husk in it. I think that's why it's cheaper. For comparison I put it next to my last pillow as shown in the picture. This pillow is said to be filled by volume and according to the product listing weighs 8-10 pounds. This item is said to weigh 6.78 pounds, but mine was over half a pound lighter. Regardless of the number, there simply aren't enough cases for this pillow size. I'm returning mine and getting another one of the last…

Excellent quality buckwheat husk pillow

I found this was not the case with the pillow I received which smelled like any other new pillow which put my mind at ease. I've had other buckwheat husk pillows (mainly sobakawa) and this pillow has a better build quality and more body filling that you can adjust to your liking with a discreet zipper. I ordered a double pillow and it fits perfectly with my standard size pillowcases.

Cushy in the weirdest way!

I needed these pillows which were specifically recommended by my physical therapist to support my neck/head. I suffer from a hardened cervical spine and almost constant insomnia from pillows that can't "hang" where I need it most. My "problem" was solved with these pillows as the weight and position of my head creates a proper "notch" and allows my head and neck to remain secure and "lulled". You're more likely to "drown" in these pillows, not because the pillow is "soft," but because it's…

It stinks - my skin was itchy and when it arrived it felt used.

First, this thing arrived in an oversized plastic bag with the zipper open, exposing the pillow to anything in the air. The pillow itself looked like it had been slept on because it was wrinkled in a weird way. And here's the smell - inspired. I touched my ear to the pillow for about 5 seconds to taste the comfort, and then my ear turned red and burned for about an hour. I read reviews that buckwheat "organic" but then was fumigated by bugs. I have to agree that this is probably the case as my…

The mystery of "smell " explained.

The smell is buckwheat itself! Here's how I know: I grew buckwheat vegetables. Buckwheat has a slightly astringent odor, so I can understand why some people think it's a chemical. (As a side note, yes, if something comes from outside the country it's likely to be sprayed, so invasive pests are kept to a minimum.) Everyone is different now, so it makes sense why some people can smell and others. I've been wearing mine for about a month now and I can still tell there is an odor but it's not…

Cute pillow on bed pillow

I couldn't decide to buy this pillow for a long time, but I'm glad I did. I've read countless reviews of various buckwheat pillows and seen the same issues keep coming up. I will compare my experience with some issues: - Odor: no chemical smells. There's a faint herbal smell when you actually bury your face into the pillow and inhale. If you think it stinks, you can open it to add a few drops of essential oil or fragrance. Noise: There's a slight crunch when you move, but it wasn't loud enough…

The support is great!

This pillow really helps with my neck problems I have at night. It seems that with every regular material pillow I've tried, including memory foam pillows, my neck was very sore when I woke up. This pillow gives my head and neck the support that no other pillow can offer. The buckwheat husk allows your head and neck to bounce on it exactly how you're shaped, and the buckwheat support works amazingly well in your personal depression, which you create by lying on it and pressing your head and…
