Review on ๐Ÿ”ง DEWALT 20V Max Cordless Drill Combo Kit (DCK1020D2): 10 Essential Tools for Ultimate Efficiency by Brian Trujillo

Revainrating 1 out of 5

These aren't yesterday's DeWalt tools!

Whom it concerns ; I started signing contracts in 1997 after returning from active duty. One of the first tools I bought was a DeWalt electric drill and a 9.6v cordless drill. I've had a hodgepodge of different tools over the years, so I have a lot of experience with how different brands perform my hard Do work. Wednesday. A few years later I got a Dewalt 12 inch miter saw, which I really liked. I also had a Porter Tiger cord saw, a Palm Sander random orbit sander that I bought and these tools have withstood some tough working conditions and I still use them to this day. I recently decided it was time to replace and upgrade all of my wireless tools and found out that Porter Cable, Dewalt, Black & Decker are now under the same ownership. Two of my favorite brands. So a few months ago I ordered another random orbit sander and a hand sander in addition to my woodworking tools and just last month I decided to buy an 11 piece cordless tool set which is quite a purchase. Dewalt had a great name and I had a positive experience with them. This brings me to the point of writing this letter to express my extreme disappointment with the tools I have received. The fit and finish is pretty poor, the hand feel is cheap, and in particular the triggers on almost all instruments are loose and feel like they could break at any moment. What really shocked me is that all of the battery packs fit so freely in the tools and rattle non-stop that I don't even want to walk around with one of my impact drills or anything on my waist because all I can hear is the click, click, click. click, click all day. How come Dewalt missed that quality control? These aren't cheap instruments, they have to be professional instruments and I paid top dollar. I was willing to pay a large sum, but I expected something more than a quality homeowner's tool. As I think back on my decision, I can't help but wonder why I didn't just spend $300 on 12 tools and a porter cord that the review said was the best level of quality for a homeowner. instead of nearly a thousand dollars I spent on Dewalt. I hope this was an unfortunate quality control oversight and not something we should expect from Dewalt in the future. The Sanders cables I bought this year are used in conjunction with the two older ones I had. This major livery and both new units failed where 15 year old mills are still going strong. I had to replace my random orbit sander with a strip and the switch on my hand sander failed. I'd like to hear what you think because I'm pretty upset right now. Incidentally, when I bought the DCK1020D2 main kit, the advert was a bit misleading with a prominent image of an oscillating multi-tool with the word Brushless in bold and a group photo next to it, but with no further comment. Now when I went back and read all the fine print I found that the other tools were brushed and that only the oscillating tool was brushless but that's how your ad came up and the part where all the other tools were listed separately and said brushed , not across was written in small print at the bottom of the ad. And looking around now I see the chest tools are only $100 more for the same set, I don't know if that makes a difference in the fit and finish and the less than stellar performance I've experienced with them , but yes, these are the product model numbers (DCK1020D2, DCF620B, DCS887D2). To add a little insult to injury this combo was sold with drywall gun addons at a promotional price which I couldn't get at checkout when Revain customer service contacted them they told me to send him a screenshot, which i made, the lady didn't say come on buy a set, the price will change later, just send us a new email. I did this by adding that the customer's second representative replied that she would not honor the agreement and that the manufacturer did not set those prices by Revain as her apology and when I attempted to cancel her computer system I said of course it was too late. Thank you David BD&B Construction
