We have 4 Glosfish. We have 3 very small danios and 1 tetra. We have chosen the smallest ones so that they have enough space. We were able to decorate it with a small underwater ornament and 4 plants. We had to buy a heater and a thermometer. So far everything has worked great. In this review I wanted to give some advice. I'm no fish expert, but setting up an aquarium isn't as easy as it sounds. You can't just add water and throw in some fish and expect them to survive. It comes with almost everything, but you'll probably need a heater. Most fish need water at a certain temperature. Glofish is a tropical fish that needs a temperature of 76-80 degrees. The one I bought cost about $10. I post the description below. I also have a small thermometer for about $3 that you can use to monitor the temperature in case the heater goes out. Test the water before adding fish! It is very important! It was our first tank, so we had no idea. We only added water conditioner. When we went to buy fish there was a lady who traded her dead fish because they wouldn't let the aquarium finish its cycle. It can take several days or more before the water is safe for fish unless you add some type of stabilizing treatment. I ended up running home to get a water sample for them to test. Glad I did because it wasn't ready yet and our fish would most likely have died. We came back three days later and were told it wasn't ready yet. They recommended we add Tetra SafeStart Water Treatment, which is basically good bacteria, to help lower ammonia and nitrite levels. We followed the instructions and the next day the tank was ready. My kids love it very much! The fish seem to be doing great. We feed them TetraPro Tropical Color Chips. It's actually not difficult to set up. The hardest part was making sure the water was safe. Just wait a week or so after you set it up, or go to your pet store and have them recommend what you need. And don't worry, most pet stores have a return or exchange policy for fish. Ours will be refunded or replaced if they die within 30 days. I hope this review was helpful. I know this is long but I just want everyone to know what they need up front. If we knew that, we would save time.
