I've used it for a variety of purposes since the day it first came out. Regardless of what oil viscosity or API oil rating your vehicle requires, it can run from 0w16 to 15w40. I mostly use 5W30, 5W40 and 0W40 synthetic oils, regardless of what the manufacturer currently recommends since the CAFE Average Fuel Economy Tax Scheme was introduced in America! On most modern cars, I add 1 ounce per quart of oil during an oil change. For older cars that don't have a roller valve mechanism, I add 2 ounces per quart. I've never had any problems with this format. I have done hundreds of UOA used oil analyzes with this product at these dosages and have never had a problem. I have cars that are between 2 and 35 years old that have not had a catalytic converter failure at this level even after over 7 years of continuous use. Cars that burn a lot of oil have problems because they burn a lot of oil and have cheap catalytic converters, not just because of the additives. I have never used this to add the break in oil to a freshly built engine as I use other products. when I build a new engine. The idea behind this product is to slightly sweeten or modify existing butter, not reinvent the wheel. It's fantastic value when used in this way. I especially like to add it to M1 0W40 and Pennzoil Ultra Platinum to strengthen the oil going into the engine of a used car of unknown history. If you use it the way I suggest, especially on a low mileage car, your timing chain, phase shifters and valve train will thank you!
