Review on Woodworking Tool: Cowryman Router Plane Handheld For Precision Carpentry Projects by James Chandran

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Solid entry level router plane

I purchased this router plane for recessed electrical components on wood projects. Primarily it's for battery capacity indicators. The router was not coated with protective oils and the blade was quite sharp.I immediately swapped out the wing nut for the lever that was included. The lever works well and holds the blade very securely.Adjustment is a bit sloppy and will take some getting used to. As you can see in the picture, there is a pretty large gap where the adjustment but fits into the blade. When you loosen the clamp try to extend the blade it moves quite a bit and will need to be backed off to get the desired cut. With thin cuts it works very well and is easy to get a smooth finish.I haven't noticed any chatter or blade slippage yet but I've been focused on taking the thinnest passes possible.Overall it's a solid entry-level router plane for small jobs with somewhat finicky depth adjustment.Made in China
