I rewired and it worked fine. That does tell me that they don't test .
The light worked as advertised after I was able to fix it. When I first plugged it in there was a blinding flash then nothing. I took apart the wiring housing and found that the hot wire had been crushed between the housing and the cover causing a dead short. I rewired and it worked fine. That does tell me that they don't test this product prior to shipping.
