Review on Enhanced Koller Products AquaView 2-Gallon Aquarium: Power Filter & LED Lighting for Optimal Viewing by Tori Williams

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Not bad, with some caveats

Nice little acrylic tank. Some pros and cons: Pros: - Compact, fits on the table but is more humane than those little betta bowls - Drip filter keeps the water moving - 360* swim and watch fish - Fully enclosed, well-fitting top keeps cats out of the small hole on top makes it easy to feed - the LED illuminates the tank decently Cons - even a betta really needs at least 5 gallons (on the other hand males don't technically need this). The curved glass actually makes it difficult to see the fish unless it's directly in the center or in front of it. To get into the tank you have to remove the entire lid. It's small, so not a big deal, but it's something to be aware of. The LED lamp has several problems: - The connection cable is sold separately; Otherwise, it runs on 3 AAA batteries. - It has repeating 24 hours. Timer, but only for 2 or 4 hours of operation. 8 or 10 would make more sense for a desktop aquarium. So I just turn it on and off manually. Pulsing or color changing lights seem to be a good way to stress the fish. I use the white light option. Note that this is a very cold white light, so the pale pink stones I added look almost white. There's not really enough light to cover the diameter of the tank; it is blunt at the edge. Despite my many complaints about the light, this isn't a bad small aquarium if you need something small, especially for a well-lit space. I think if I were to buy another tank I would go for another 3.5 gallons, no rounded edges and with a slightly larger filter.

Pros

Cons
  • Available in white only
