2PCS Neodrain Hair & Debris Strainer - Fits Shower Drain, Trap, Catcher W/ Lifting Hook Review

It kinda works. Some of the hair fall through the holes but it caught some of it. I need to find a way to make the holes smaller or add a filter layer to it.

This little device works great, easy to install, and is super sturdy. But has anyone every tried to clean sludge and hair that collects in drains? It not easy. And, cleaning this little device is no exception if it lasts in the drain for an extended period. All around very satisfied. But, I wonder if there is an easier to clean material? Or, cleaning solution?!

Seems to do a good job catching hair. Appears to be made of decent quality (non-rusting) stainless.A bit difficult to clean with fixed crossbar, but doable. Could fit a bit tighter in my standard shower drain pipe. Lifting hook is really handy to lift up square shower grate to access hair catcher.

I bought this to replace the stock strainer that came with my linear drain. What makes this different and better are the oval side holes, vs the circular side holes that are on my stock strainer. The oval holes are bigger and allow water to flow through better, and are less prone to clogging from hair, lint, sock fuzz, etc. The stock strainer was clogging every few days, but this strainer goes a week or so between cleanings. If you have a strainer with just circular holes and it's clogging…

It didn't fit! Even the support arm didn't even reach the drain. On the plus side it was so cheap that it didn't even pay to waste the time and effort to replace!

The side bars do not allow the hair catch to fully fill into the drainage pipe. It will work, but not well. I recommend the Danco 3 pack. They are tapered so that fit snug.

Well built and almost perfect - its diameter is slightly smaller than the linear drain hole so it is possible that small items could slip into the drain but it will keep big chunks like bandaids from going down the drain. The bar across the top really does keep it in place.

This was the solution to our drainage problem. Our new renovated shower was very slow to drain. In fact, you’d be in about an inch of water after you turned of the shower. We even had a plumber come to the house twice to unplug the pipe. He told us about this strainer and since we’ve had it we have no drainage problems at all. It really solved our issue. It works great.

Still let a lot of hair through and didn’t catch much because most of the water and hair would sluice down the outside of the basket. Maybe this would work in a more narrow drain, but mine left too much space around the outside of the basket.

This drain basket is amazing and perfect. It was exactly what I was looking for. It fit down into the drain line itself , but is held up by a simple bar. The accompanying hook is the perfect tool to fish and clean the basket.

It does catch some serious hair and will likely avoid having the plumber come out to snake the drain for quite a while.It's a real pain to clean, mostly because the bar across the top blocks easy access to a pretty small basket. Even with the included hook tool your hands will get pretty dirty.Installation is trivial.As other reviewers have said, there is some space around the edges. It would catch more hair if it were a full 2 inches.

Given our drain, this works specifically with our design. Because of the bar across the top, it makes it a little hard to get the hair out. Do not bang it to loosen. If you do, the weld holding the bar to the basket can loosen, what happened to us, and so we needed a replacement.

Perfect fit for what I needed - unlike other similar products I had previously tried. Well designed and well worth the money.

Ordered this drain basket as the contractors never installed the original one. (Linear drain in a shower).The basket fits well, and seems to do the job, but as delivered the small hook piece (pictured) was missing. Would have been nice to have that to more easily remove hair and debris. Oh well.

It's a little taller than my drain when it sits in it but it will serve the purpose needed which will stop hair from humans and my dogs from clogging my tub drain when I bath them. It works! Also like the little hook to pull it out instead of having to touch that yucky crap!

This was the perfect replacement for the drain filter that came with our drain. The stock filter was mesh and would clog even with soap and we were backwashing it constantly. This drain still catches hair well, but doesn't clog. Very happy with this!

Works as expected for my long tiled drain. Fits the drain home perfectly with no gaps. I have the Neodrain 24" linear drain
