This arrived without a box, just a plug. Using this as a gag gift, it's not nearly as funny if you have examine why you're getting a plug. How is it programed? Without a box or instructions to follow, who knows!

Works great as it has always been advertised as. No remote, dont need one you've got your hands, but still gave it a 5. The device takes up valuable countertop space!

Im gonna start off by saying the bad reviews really made me question my purchase but it’s not "a piece of junk” it’s good it just takes some getting used to. Practice getting the clap right because it is a specific rhythm you gotta do but once you get it down it works like a charm. Do have to clap a bit loudly then again I do have music playing and a fan on but maybe at night when everything always seems to sound louder because there’s no noise throughout the house a quieter clap will suffice…

Ordered for my 82 year old mom after she came home from a two week stay in the hospital. It was easy to install but you had to clap really hard to make it work and at times it wouldn’t work even by doing that. Had to send it back.

I like the idea of clapping on and off the lights. The only thing it is picking on the clap sound. Sometimes it will work others it will not. I can tap the headboard of the bed and get it to come on or off. But just clapping I have to find the sound range it wants. We find it funny.

Got this for my daughter’s room so she could turn her lights off from her bed and it’s just… finicky. The claps (or hard knocks on wood, or loud snaps) need to be really crisp and precise to trigger the switch and I’d say it works 50-60% of the time. If it was around $10 I wouldn’t mind but at the higher price point I expected newer technology and a higher rate of success.

I ordered this item while I was in the midst of a fever from Covid. I didn't remember ordering it so when it showed up today I was confused, then absolutely delighted. This clapper has saved me from falling out of bed while reaching for my lamp switch, an almost nightly occurrence. It's cute, functional and definitely a source of entertainment as I recover. Well. I normally use this for my bedside table at night when I’m reading my books. It works well because as I fall asleep, I’m too tired to roll over and turn the lamp off. So I just clap my hands and this baby turns my lamp off.It definitely requires a strong clap. I was clapping my girlfriends cheeks, and this thing was giving us almost a strobe light effect. 10/10 recommend this when you have someone in bed with you.

I bought this for my 83 year old mother. She can clap but it requires a loud sharp sound to work and my mom just doesn't have the strength in her hands to clap in the way this device requires to work. So, what happens is I will hear my mom try several times, and I have to go to her room and clap for her. It's a convenient device but not for elderly.

We have this for a bedside lamp. With adjustable bed this works great. Need to have it in an open area or it does not work as well.

Bought this for a Star Wars fan and it was a welcome gift. I learned and witnessed myself that the light will go on / off at just a drawer closing. Such sensitivity has become such a hassle that the user no longer wants it hooked up to bedside lamp - seeing at it goes goes on and off at even foot steps in the hall. Such a fun clapper - wish it had more ability to decipher claps!
