Wireless Earbuds for TV - Avantree HT380 Review

My husband has more hearing loss in his left ear than his right. We originally tried the HT4186, but the earbuds can't be customized for each side. At the suggestion of Avantree's excellent customer service, we tried the HT380. Each side is adjustable in volume. Works perfectly!

Bought these for my wife who is hard of hearing. She wears hearing aids, but with these earplugs you have to take the hearing aids out and rely on the volume of that device. Even though they didn't work well for her at all, I gave them 3 stars because they might work for people with normal hearing. I ended up buying her an over-the-ear pair to use her hearing aids with and they work much better. If you need headphones because of a hearing loss, I would go with the over-the-ear type.

While this design is better than the other "Stalk" designs, this Avantree might be the worst as there is no external microphone volume safety feature. If the volume rises above a certain point, a screeching feedback loop is created that reaches ear-damaging frequencies. I have an 80% hearing loss in one ear compared to the other and I've tried a range of Bluetooth earbuds to get music and videos back to stereo. This system is the best I have ever seen.
